Biography

Monica practices in the areas of corporate law, construction, real estate and zoning.  She counsels clients in the acquisition, sale, development, leasing, exchanges, construction, tax evaluation and financing of industrial, commercial and residential properties including, but not limited to, manufacturing plants, offices, distribution sites, telecommunication facilities, restaurants, parks, residential subdivisions and farms. Monica appears before local planning commissions and zoning boards. She has assisted clients in obtaining grants, low interest loans and tax abatements from economic incentive programs offered by local and state governments. Monica appears before the Board of Revision in connection with property valuation complaints. She has assisted corporate clients with mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell agreements, employment agreements and other contract issues. She has also provided both real estate and business counsel in connection with a variety of litigation matters.  Based on recommendation by her peers, Monica was selected one of Ohio’s Super Lawyers in 2004 and 2006.  In 2007, she was recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America for her work in Real Estate Law.  Also based on election by her peers, Monica is recognized with an AV Rating, the highest rating given to lawyers by Martindale-Hubbell.  Monica is also an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in Business, Commercial and Industrial Real Property Law.

Monica is Co-Chair of the Firm's Banking and Financial Services Industry Group and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Women’s Professional Development Group.
